Acting Mafraq Governor Ahmed Al-Zuhair said that as part of the Ministry of Interior's plan to develop border crossings for the years 2026-2027, work has been done to widen the lanes for vehicles and buses at Jaber Border Center for those coming from Syria, with the aim of reducing congestion and facilitating the movement of transit.

He added to the Petra news agency on Tuesday that a special passport building has been equipped for bus passengers to facilitate them in conjunction with all procedures followed in this regard.

Regarding the commercial movement between Jordan and Syria, which is witnessing an active movement in terms of the number of trucks coming from Syria, he explained that a yard equipped with all the necessary technologies has been established to speed up their entry operations, noting that the new yard can accommodate about 200 trucks loaded with goods.

He also pointed out that instructions have been given to establish an operations room connected to the central administrations and the entities working at Jaber Border Center, with the aim of easing and facilitating the routine procedures for travelers and trucks loaded with goods.

Al-Zuhair pointed out that these measures were taken through a plan directed by the Minister of Interior within the Ministry's vision to develop border centers to ease the burden on travelers and cargo movement.
