The Short Story and Novel Committee at the Jordanian Writers Association held a literary evening dedicated to an impressionistic reading of the short story collection "A Man in a Woman's Wiles" by author and novelist Fida Al-Hadidi, published by the Arab Institute for Research and Publishing with the support of the Ministry of Culture, in the presence of a number of writers, literary figures, and those interested in cultural affairs.
The evening, moderated and presented by writer Amal Al-Mashayekh, began with an introduction to Al-Hadidi's creative journey before the author spoke about her writing experience, the foundations that contributed to shaping her fictional world, and her vision of the characters and events contained within the collection's texts.
Al-Hadidi presented excerpts from her collection, during which she discussed her vision of short story writing, her relationship with the text and characters, and the space the story provides for capturing human details and delving into the unspoken aspects of daily life.
Writer Kholoud Al-Momani provided an impressionistic reading of the collection, focusing on a number of its texts, their connotations, and implications, noting the uniqueness of Al-Hadidi's narrative experience and the presence of the human dimension and attention to detail in building her fictional worlds.
Following the readings, an open dialogue took place between the author and the audience, covering the technical and intellectual aspects of the collection. The evening featured interventions and questions about the experience, the art of the short story, and its role in expressing the transformations of the individual and society.
The evening is part of the cultural activity undertaken by the Jordanian Writers Association and its commitment to supporting narrative arts and celebrating Jordanian literary publications and experiences.
