Al-Taghyeer Party: The Royal Speech Affirmed State Principles and Emphasized That Citizens, Freedom of Expression, and the Rule of Law Are National Priorities

The Al-Taghyeer Party affirmed that the Royal Speech delivered today by His Majesty King Abdullah II carried clear national and political messages, reflecting Jordan's enduring principles and priorities for the upcoming phase, foremost among them safeguarding national security and unity, entrenching freedom of expression, strengthening the rule of law, accelerating reform and development trajectories, and placing the citizen at the heart of national decision-making.

The party stated in a statement that His Majesty’s emphasis on confronting terrorism, in light of the recent events in Karak, exemplifies the Jordanian state’s firmness in protecting its security and stability, and confirms that Jordanian unity and cohesion represent the primary line of defense against extremism and terrorism.

The party appreciated His Majesty’s affirmation that discussing public affairs is a constitutional right, and that differing opinions are a source of strength when the nation’s interest is the ultimate goal, noting that the King’s openness to diverse viewpoints sends an important message to all state institutions about the necessity of respecting freedom of expression and accepting responsible criticism as a tool for reform, performance improvement, and enhancing institutional trust.

The party highlighted the importance of the Royal messages addressed to the National Assembly, which affirmed its legislative and oversight role and responsibility in elevating political conduct and discourse, alongside stressing the rule of law and refusing any immunity for those who misuse public office.

Regarding the economy, the party emphasized the importance of Royal directives to accelerate the implementation of major development projects, particularly water security projects, as a strategic priority linked to national security and future generations’ rights, stressing that development success must be measured by its direct impact on citizens’ lives, job opportunities, and services. The party also affirmed its pride in Jordan’s steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause, rejection of Israeli expansionist ambitions, and commitment to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people as fundamental to achieving regional security and stability.

The Al-Taghyeer Party concluded its statement by affirming that the Royal Speech outlined the features of a state strong in security, just in law, broad in freedoms, effective in institutions, and aligned with its citizens, and that national responsibility today demands translating these directives into policies, decisions, and tangible achievements on the ground.
