The speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly at its eighty-first session formed a focal point for parliamentary positions that emphasized the importance of the messages carried by the speech regarding the Palestinian cause, the repercussions of the crises the region is witnessing, and the responsibility of the international community in protecting international law and enhancing security and stability.
Al-Qadi
Speaker of the House of Representatives Mazen Al-Qadi said that the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the UN General Assembly, with the deep strategic vision it carried, placed the international community before its legal, moral, and political responsibilities, and presented an integrated Jordanian vision for dealing with the region's crises, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, stressing that the Royal speech represents a clear roadmap toward a just peace based on the two-state solution, ending the occupation, and embodying the independent Palestinian state on its national soil.
Al-Qadi added, in a statement issued by the House of Representatives, that His Majesty the King spoke with the confidence of a state that knows its interests and realizes the magnitude of the challenges surrounding it, when he affirmed that Jordan will not turn its eyes away from any threat to its national security, and that the security of borders, water, and Jordanian interests are clear lines that are not subject to compromise, stressing that the House of Representatives stands behind His Majesty the King, the Army, and the security services in protecting Jordan's security, stability, sovereignty, and the interests of its people.
Al-Qadi said that His Majesty the King's talk about the growing threats in the region, especially regarding southern Syria, reflects an accurate Jordanian reading of the sources of danger, and confirms that Jordan deals with its national security as a responsibility that does not accept delay, and that any threat to the northern borders or Jordanian water security is a direct threat to national security that Jordan will deal with firmly and forcefully.
He added that Jordan, at the same time, proves that protecting national security does not conflict with openness to dialogue and diplomacy and performing duties toward the international community, as the Kingdom continues to perform its role in confronting terrorism and drug smuggling and contributing to protecting the region's security, while simultaneously seeking to enhance its position as a center for trade, industry, and technology, and a bridge connecting the countries of the region and their economic and humanitarian interests.
Al-Qadi said that His Majesty the King's speech addressed the international community in the language of international law and international legitimacy, and placed the Israeli occupation government before the reality of its practices on the ground, away from attempts to re-characterize the facts or circumvent their truth, stressing that His Majesty the King presented in his speech evidence and proof that what is happening in the Palestinian territories is no longer acceptable to be silent about in any form.
Al-Qadi said that His Majesty the King clearly exposed the occupying state and the danger of its continuation in policies of settlement, land confiscation, and displacement in the West Bank, and also placed the international community before the reality of what is happening in the Gaza Strip in terms of destruction of civilian infrastructure, targeting of civilians, and tightening the siege on the Palestinians, stressing that calling things by their legal and political names represents a fundamental step in confronting the occupation's attempts aimed at consolidating the status quo by force.
Al-Qadi pointed out that His Majesty the King's talk about Gaza and the West Bank carried a very important message, which is that the international community should not be content with managing the conflict or dealing with its crises on the basis of containing the explosion at one time and postponing it at another, because managing the conflict instead of solving it has contributed over decades to producing a more complex reality that serves the occupying state and its illegal measures.
Al-Qadi affirmed that the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem represents a firm historical responsibility and a steadfast Jordanian commitment that is not subject to political circumstances or power balances, stressing that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, will continue to protect the Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity of Jerusalem, safeguard its holy sites, preserve the historical and legal status quo therein, and confront any attempts aimed at changing this status or imposing new facts on the ground.
Al-Qadi affirmed that His Majesty the King's speech placed the world before the fundamental question regarding the credibility of international law; if occupation and continuous violations can continue for decades without effective accountability, then this puts the entire system of international legitimacy before a real test, pointing out that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, will continue to emphasize that international law is indivisible and that its application should not be subject to double standards.
Al-Qadi said that His Majesty the King also revealed the danger of what is happening in the West Bank in terms of settlement expansion, violence, displacement, and land seizure, and placed these practices in their legal and political framework, warning that their continuation directly undermines the possibility of establishing a viable Palestinian state, threatens the foundation upon which the two-state solution is based, and makes a just peace more difficult the longer the international community delays in acting.
Al-Qadi added that His Majesty the King's talk about rejecting the reduction of the conflict into a religious framework was very important, as he affirmed that the issue is not a conflict between religions, but an issue of rights, dignity, justice, and the right of a people to self-determination, noting that this position reflects the Jordanian role in defending the true image of Islam, in protecting Christianity, its heritage, and its communities in their historical homeland, and in consolidating the values of coexistence, moderation, and respect for the other.
Al-Qadi affirmed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, continues to perform its historical role in protecting Christianity, its communities, and its civilizational heritage in their original and historical homeland, in parallel with its defense of the true image of Islam, which is based on moderation, tolerance, and mercy, in the face of hate speech, extremism, and attempts to distort the image of the true religion.
Al-Qadi affirmed that Jordan will not retreat from supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and will also continue to carry the trust of the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and preserve the historical and legal status quo therein, considering this an inherent part of the historical Jordanian role and the responsibility that Jordan undertakes.
He pointed out that His Majesty the King did not speak about the Palestinian cause in isolation from its regional and international surroundings, but placed it in a broader context of the crises plaguing the region and the world, from Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Sudan, to Ukraine and other conflict zones, warning that protracted wars do not remain confined to their geographical borders, but are reflected in food security, energy, trade, investment, and the lives of peoples all over the world.
Al-Qadi affirmed that the Royal message also carried an affirmation that Jordan is a state the world can rely on, as a state that adheres to its principles, is committed to its positions, is open to dialogue, and is ready to work with everyone who seeks peace, stressing that adherence to diplomacy and dialogue should not be understood in any way as weakness, but rather as an expression of the state's confidence in itself, its position, and its ability to protect its interests.
Al-Qadi said that one of the most prominent contents of the Royal speech is the emphasis that military force alone cannot produce peace or address the roots of crises, and that ending wars requires legitimate institutions, trust between states, respect for agreements and laws, and political will capable of transforming international resolutions from written texts into effective measures on the ground, noting that the collapse of trust in international law opens the door to more chaos and instability.
He pointed out that His Majesty the King placed the international community before the responsibility of not allowing interest in crises to turn into temporary interest linked to the volume of media coverage, affirming that peoples living in war and displacement should not have their suffering become hostage to the world's interest or its decline, and principles should not change with the change in the level of international attention to the crisis.
Attieh
For his part, the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Khamis Hussein Attieh, affirmed that the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the UN General Assembly placed the international community before its political, moral, and legal responsibilities, at an international moment where crises are expanding and the ability to protect the rules of international law and the principles of justice is declining.
Attieh said that His Majesty the King clearly expressed the essence of the Jordanian position when he warned against turning the handling of crises into mere management rather than working to resolve them, stressing that the cause of Palestine cannot remain hostage to statements of condemnation and resolutions that do not find their way to implementation.
He added that His Majesty the King’s talk about "attention" as a rare geopolitical resource carries a highly important message: that the continuation of wars and suffering must not become familiar due to the passage of time or changing international priorities, and that what is happening in Palestine must remain at the forefront of international attention until the occupation ends and the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state is upheld.
Attieh pointed out that His Majesty the King placed the issue of international law before a real test, questioning the value of international rules if repeated violations remain without accountability or enforcement, noting that Jordan continues to emphasize that security and stability in the region cannot be achieved through imposing a fait accompli or expanding the circle of conflict.
He said that what the speech included regarding the West Bank, Gaza, geographical expansion, and attacks on Palestinian rights confirms that Jordan does not deal with the Palestinian cause as a fleeting political file, but rather as a central issue directly linked to the security and stability of the region and the future of the international system based on law.
He emphasized that the importance of His Majesty the King’s speech does not stop at describing reality, but extends to providing a clear vision for Jordan's role; a state committed to its principles, open to dialogue, capable of communicating with various parties, and seeking a just peace based on respect for law and rights, stressing that these constants are what granted Jordan its credibility and role in dealing with the region's crises.
He noted that His Majesty the King’s talk about Jordan as a country the world can rely on reflects a consistent approach of the Jordanian state in protecting its national interests and defending its causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, while simultaneously maintaining a balanced policy based on dialogue, openness, and not being dragged into chaos and regional conflicts.
Attieh said that the Royal speech confirms once again that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, does not suffice with diagnosing crises, but rather presents to the world the responsibility to act, especially regarding the continuation of the occupation and the resulting humanitarian, political, and security repercussions that transcend the borders of Palestine to reach the region and the world.
Al-Jarrah
For her part, Assistant Speaker of the House of Representatives, MP Hala Al-Jarrah, said that Jordan proceeds in its national and strategic vision from firm constants, foremost among them protecting the internal front, safeguarding national security, and preserving the state's sovereignty, borders, and resources in the face of the various challenges and dangers witnessed by the region.
Al-Jarrah added, in a statement, that the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly reaffirmed a clear Jordanian equation, the title of which is that the strength of the external position begins with the strength of the internal front, and that defending Arab causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, is inseparable from protecting Jordan, its security, stability, and supreme interests.
She pointed out that His Majesty the King placed Jordan's security at the forefront of priorities and sent clear messages regarding the protection of borders and national sovereignty, confirming that the Kingdom will not allow the imposition of facts or threats that affect its security or stability.
She said that Jordan, which has historically been known for its responsible role in dealing with the region's crises, realizes that rapid regional transformations require constant vigilance and readiness to protect the homeland and its resources.
Regarding water security, Al-Jarrah emphasized that water and vital resources constitute an essential part of the Jordanian national security system, and that protecting these resources and defending Jordan's rights to them is a national responsibility that does not accept complacency.
She added that raising this file on the international platform, in light of the water challenges and increasing pressures the Kingdom faces, reflects an awareness of the fact that water security has become one of the most prominent elements of security and stability in the region.
Al-Jarrah indicated that Jordan, while placing its national security, borders, and interests at the forefront of its priorities, has not abandoned its role towards the causes of its nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, noting that Jordan does not view the Palestinian cause as a fleeting political file, but rather as a central issue linked to the security, stability, and future of the region.
She said that His Majesty the King carried from the UN podium Jordan's clear voice in defending the rights of the Palestinian people, confirming that true peace cannot be achieved through managing the conflict or delaying solutions, but rather through addressing its roots and enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on their national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international references.
She emphasized that the Jordanian role in defending Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites stems from the historical Hashemite Custodianship, which constitutes a continuous responsibility towards the holy sites and preserving their identity and historical and legal status.
She added that Jerusalem, for Jordan, is not just a title in political discourse, but part of the national and pan-Arab conscience, and an issue linked to the Arab and Islamic identity and the rights of the Palestinian people.
Al-Jarrah pointed out that the steadfastness of the Jordanian position towards the Palestinian cause is accompanied by a clear rejection of any attempts aimed at changing the political and geographical composition of the region or burdening Jordan with the results of crises it was not a party to.
She said that Jordan, which has borne heavy burdens over decades as a result of the region's crises and hosted millions of refugees, constantly confirms that its stability, sovereignty, and national decision are not subject to bargaining.
She indicated that this equation reveals the nature of the Jordanian role in the region as a state that protects its borders, security, and interests, while at the same time adhering to its Arab and humanitarian role, defending the region's causes through political and diplomatic means, and calling for respect for international law, state sovereignty, and the right of peoples to self-determination.
She emphasized that the message carried by the Royal speech to the international community is based on the fact that Jordan knows where its national interests stand, just as it knows the extent of its responsibilities towards its nation's causes, noting that protecting borders, water security, and national sovereignty does not conflict with defending Palestine and Jerusalem, but rather they all form one system titled protecting Jordan and safeguarding its role, positions, and constants.
Al-Jarrah said that the Jordanian Armed Forces–the Arab Army and the security services represent a title of readiness, discipline, and protection of the homeland, while the awareness of Jordanians and the cohesion of the internal front constitute a fundamental pillar in facing challenges.
Meanwhile, the Azm Party parliamentary bloc valued what the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly in its eighty-first session carried, in terms of a strong defense of the Palestinian right and exposing to the international community the reality of Israeli practices in Gaza and the West Bank, while simultaneously confirming Jordan's steadfastness in protecting its security and national interests and adhering to a just peace.
Al-Hajaya
The head of the bloc, MP Arwa Al-Hajaya, said that His Majesty the King placed the world before the reality that what is happening in the Palestinian territories can no longer be dealt with as isolated events or temporary measures, but rather as interconnected practices aimed at imposing a new reality on the ground and undermining the possibility of establishing a viable Palestinian state.
She added that the Royal speech was clear and firm in calling practices by their names, and in exposing the danger of settlement expansion, land seizure, forced displacement, and settler violence, placing the international community before a real test of its ability to protect and apply international law without double standards or selectivity.
Al-Hajaya emphasized that His Majesty the King returned the Palestinian cause to its essence as an issue of right, justice, and human dignity, not a religious conflict, noting that His Majesty's affirmation that Palestinians, both Muslims and Christians, deserve the same rights enjoyed by others, debunked attempts to portray the conflict as a confrontation between religions.
Al-Hmeisat
The head of the Mubadara (Initiative) parliamentary bloc, MP Ahmad Al-Hmeisat, praised the speech delivered by His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly in its eighty-first session, confirming that it embodied the steadfastness of the Jordanian position towards the region's causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and placed the international community before its political, humanitarian, and legal responsibilities.
Al-Hmeisat said that His Majesty the King's emphasis on what the Palestinian people are being subjected to in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the necessity of ending the occupation, settlement expansion, and displacement, reflects the consistent Jordanian position calling for a just and comprehensive solution that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on its national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He added that His Majesty the King's call for the international community to move from positions and resolutions to practical steps, and to respect international law and human rights, confirms the importance of addressing the roots of conflicts and ending double standards.
Al-Shdeifat
The head of the Agriculture and Water Committee, MP Dr. Ahmad Al-Shdeifat, valued His Majesty the King's affirmation that Jordan's security, sovereignty, borders, water, and national interests are red lines that cannot be crossed, noting that Jordanian diplomacy based on dialogue and peace is accompanied by a firm position in protecting national security.
He praised His Majesty the King's positions towards UNRWA and supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and Jordan's continued role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem within the framework of the Hashemite Custodianship.
Al-Shudaifat affirmed his support for the national positions expressed by His Majesty the King, and the Jordanian efforts aimed at defending the Palestinian cause, protecting the Kingdom's interests, and enhancing security and stability in the region.
Al-Khashman
The head of the Union and Reform Parliamentary Bloc, MP Captain Zuhair Mohammed Al-Khashman, affirmed that the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly presented a decisive political position on the path the region is being pushed toward, and placed the international community before the reality that continued inaction grants occupation and expansionist policies the ability to determine the future, while clearly declaring that Jordan will protect its borders, its water, and the interests of its people.
Al-Khashman said that the strength of the speech is manifested in its structure; as it began with a question of attention, moved to questioning international will, and reached a conclusion on the requirements of Jordanian national security.
In this progression, His Majesty addressed the world in a language that explains the danger, defines responsibility, and declares the position, combining the clarity of the argument with the firmness of the warning.
He added that His Majesty’s reference to the study regarding the decline in an individual’s attention span in front of a screen formed a highly significant entry point for understanding a wider imbalance in international politics: crises crowd the world's attention, while the policies that create them and benefit from the waning of attention toward them continue.
When His Majesty described attention as a geopolitical resource, he posed a question to leaders about what they do after the headlines fade and the cameras turn away; for rights remain threatened even when the tragedy stops dominating the news.
He continued: "In our reading of the speech, the world treats time as additional space for diplomacy, while the Israeli government uses it to change the land upon which the settlement is supposed to be based. Here lies the danger of waiting: that talk of a Palestinian state remains, while the foundations of life are gradually being stripped from it."
Al-Khashman indicated that this significance explains His Majesty's insistence on reading Gaza and the West Bank within a single strategy; for destroying the foundations of life in Gaza, and confiscating land, expanding settlements, and displacing residents in the West Bank, converge in undermining the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state. Therefore, protecting the two-state solution requires confronting the measures that make it impossible, and holding those responsible for them accountable.
He emphasized that His Majesty calling things by their names represents a fulcrum in the speech; because accepting the description of annexation as land registration, and displacement as the implementation of the law, prepares for the acceptance of their results.
His Majesty placed the international community before its responsibility for the language it adopts, as much as its responsibility for the measures it takes; for when words diminish the gravity of an act, the opportunities for accountability recede with them.
Al-Khashman stressed that "His Majesty the King's clarity requires a parallel clarity in our national position: protecting Jordan's borders, its water, and its people's interests is a collective responsibility, supported by a cohesive internal front, strong institutions, and firm support for our armed forces and security services. Everyone must read Jordan's readiness for dialogue as coupled with its will to protect its security; for Jordanian diplomacy is based on the steadfastness of the position and the ability to defend it."
Al-Khashman affirmed that parliamentary responsibility requires translating the contents of the speech into action with Arab and international parliaments, placing before them specific questions about protecting the opportunities for a Palestinian state, confronting displacement and annexation, supporting UNRWA, and addressing the attacks that threaten the stability of the region.
Ziadine
The head of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, MP Engineer Haitham Ziadine, affirmed that the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly carried clear and decisive political messages, and placed the international community before its responsibilities toward the crises and dangerous developments the region is witnessing, foremost of which is the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, and attempts to impose new facts on the ground that threaten the chances of achieving peace and stability.
Ziadine said, in a statement issued by the committee, that the royal speech reflected the clarity of the Jordanian vision toward the developments of the Palestinian cause, and placed the international community before the reality of what is happening in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, stressing that dealing with the events as separate files ignores the nature of the developments on the ground, and distances international efforts from addressing the roots of the conflict and its true causes.
He added that His Majesty the King clearly affirmed that what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank is linked to a single path aimed at undermining the foundations of the Palestinian state, in light of continued settlement expansion, land confiscation, violence against Palestinians, and attempts to change historical and legal facts on the ground.
Ziadine pointed out that the royal speech renewed the affirmation that the Palestinian cause is a political, humanitarian, and human rights issue, and that the path to peace begins with recognizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and enabling them to establish their independent state on their national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international references.
He stressed that the continued absence of a just political solution does not serve the security and stability of the region, calling on the international community to move from the stage of crisis management to taking practical and serious steps to address the causes of the conflict, and to implement international legitimacy resolutions, in a way that ensures the protection of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Ziadine pointed to the importance of the messages sent by His Majesty the King regarding regional developments and attempts to impose new facts, especially in southern Syria, affirming that Jordan deals with its national security, sovereignty, borders, and supreme interests as constants that are not subject to compromise.
He affirmed that the security of the Kingdom's northern borders and its water security represent an essential part of the Jordanian national security system, and that the position expressed by His Majesty the King in this regard reflects the state's responsibility in protecting its interests and its people, and dealing with any developments that threaten its security and stability in accordance with what national interest requires.
Regarding the international position, Ziadine said that the international community is required to assume its responsibilities in applying international law to everyone without selectivity, and not to be content with issuing statements and positions, pointing out that the effectiveness of the international system is measured by its ability to protect civilians, stop violations, and enforce international resolutions.
The National Charter Party parliamentary bloc praised what the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly in its eighty-first session carried, of a vision of a state that is confident and steadfast in its principles, capable of protecting its national interests, and at the same time committed to just peace, international law, and defending the rights of the Palestinian people.
Al-Khalaileh
The head of the bloc, MP Ali Al-Khalaileh, said that His Majesty the King placed the international community before its responsibilities toward the region's crises, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, affirming that continuing to manage the conflict and contain its repercussions instead of addressing its roots has contributed to deepening the crisis and allowed for the imposition of dangerous facts on the ground.
He added that His Majesty the King's affirmation that any threat to Jordan's northern borders or its water security represents a threat to national security, and that the Kingdom will protect its security, water, and the interests of its people, embodies the clarity of national priorities and the state's confidence in its ability to safeguard its sovereignty and resources in the face of challenges.
Al-Khalaileh said that one of the most prominent messages of the royal speech is that Jordanian diplomacy stems from strength and steadfastness and is not an expression of weakness; for Jordan is open to dialogue and ready to work with everyone who seeks peace, but at the same time, it does not compromise on protecting its national interests or its commitment to humanitarian values.
He pointed out that His Majesty the King presented an integrated vision for the Jordanian state that deals with the challenges of the present without stopping the building of the future, by enhancing the Kingdom's position as a center for trade, industry, and technology, developing its defense capabilities, and confronting terrorism and drug smuggling, in parallel with performing its political and humanitarian role in the region.
Al-Khalaileh affirmed that the royal speech revealed the danger of Israeli policies in Gaza and the West Bank, and what settlement operations, land seizure, and displacement represent as a direct threat to the possibility of establishing a viable Palestinian state and achieving a just peace.
He added that His Majesty the King's adherence to supporting Palestinian steadfastness and "UNRWA," and continuing to carry the trust of the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, expresses firm Jordanian constants, affirming that Jordan will remain, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, strong in protecting its interests, steadfast in its principles, and present in defending Palestine, peace, and justice.
Al-Tarawneh
The head of the Jordanian-French Parliamentary Friendship Association, MP Dr. Ibrahim Al-Tarawneh, affirmed that the Jordanian position, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, will remain steadfast and clear in defending Jordan's security, stability, and sovereignty, standing by the rights of the Palestinian people, and rejecting any attempts to impose displacement, resettlement, or an alternative homeland.
Al-Tarawneh said that His Majesty the King's speech before the United Nations General Assembly carried clear messages that transcend the borders of the region, and confirm the importance of security, stability, and peace at the regional and international levels, and the necessity for the international community to assume its responsibilities in dealing with crises, and not to be content with managing or postponing them, but rather working to address their roots in accordance with international law and international legitimacy.
He pointed out that His Majesty the King warned of the wide repercussions of regional conflicts, noting that what the region witnessed from the war between Iran and Israel showed the extent of the speed with which the effects of instability move to various parts of the world, which is reflected in the movement of trade, investment, energy security, and the lives of peoples, which confirms that the security and stability of the region are an integral part of global security and stability.
Al-Tarawneh affirmed that the Palestinian cause and the Gaza Strip formed a fundamental pillar in His Majesty the King's speech, in which he renewed the warning against the continuation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict without a solution, and the danger of merely containing crises instead of reaching a just and lasting political solution, stressing the necessity of ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and enabling them to attain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on their land with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He stressed that Jordan is not an alternative homeland and will never be, and that any attempts to impose forced displacement, resettlement, or change the demographic composition are categorically rejected, affirming that protecting Jordan, its security, sovereignty, and national constants are fixed lines that cannot be compromised.
Al-Tarawneh added that the Jordanian position toward the Palestinian cause does not stem from temporary considerations, but from a firm historical and national responsibility, pointing to the role Jordan plays in supporting the Palestinian people and defending Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, within the framework of the Hashemite Custodianship over them.
He indicated that His Majesty the King's message to the international community confirms that achieving peace and stability requires real political will, respect for international law, protection of human rights, and addressing the causes of conflicts, instead of letting them worsen and their effects spill over to other peoples and countries.
Al-Qaralleh
The head of the Parliamentary Education and Culture Committee, MP Dr. Ibrahim Al-Qaralleh, affirmed that the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly reflects the steadfastness of the Jordanian position and its adherence to diplomacy and dialogue, without this being at the expense of human values and firm principles.
Al-Qaralleh said that His Majesty the King's emphasis that adherence to diplomacy does not supersede the commitment to human values, and should not be misinterpreted as weakness, carries a clear message that Jordanian diplomacy is a responsible approach based on wisdom, steadfastness, and the defense of rights and principles.
He added that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, will remain loyal to its principles, open to dialogue, and committed to international law and international legitimacy and the necessity of protecting the rights and dignity of peoples, affirming that true peace is not achieved by ignoring or postponing crises, but by addressing their roots and having the international community assume its responsibilities.
Al-Qaralleh stressed that the Royal message confirms that Jordan's principles do not change with changing circumstances or the level of international attention, and that the Kingdom will continue its responsible role in supporting peace and stability and defending just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, while maintaining its national constants and interests.
Al-Sqour
MP Majhem Al-Sqour considered that the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly went beyond the limits of traditional diplomatic discourse and formed a clear political message that outlines the features of the Jordanian position toward the rapid and dangerous transformations the region is witnessing.
Al-Sqour said that His Majesty the King did not just diagnose the crises, but placed the international community before its political and moral responsibilities, affirming that managing conflicts and postponing solutions is no longer a sustainable policy, and that allowing facts to be imposed on the ground would reshape the region at the expense of security, stability, and the rights of peoples.
He added that the Royal message carried implications that go beyond the Palestinian cause to the future of the region, especially in light of attempts to impose a new reality by force, stressing that Jordan acts from the position of a state that defends its interests and constants and adheres to diplomacy, but does not accept that the policy of fait accompli becomes a rule governing the region.
Al-Sqour pointed out that the Royal speech combined the defense of Palestinian rights with a warning against the repercussions of expansion and displacement, and placed Jordanian national security at the heart of regional calculations, considering that His Majesty the King's talk about borders, water, and national security carries a clear message that Jordan will not treat any threat to its interests as a detail in the regional landscape.
He affirmed that the Royal speech presented a coherent Jordanian vision, based on the premise that peace is a strategic choice and diplomacy is an effective tool, but national constants and national security are not a subject for bargaining, pointing out that continuing to ignore the roots of the conflict will not lead to stability, but will reproduce crises in a more dangerous form.
Al-Zoubi
Member of the Mithaq Parliamentary Bloc, Awni Al-Zoubi, praised the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly, expressing his admiration for the clear and decisive positions it contained regarding national and regional issues.
Al-Zoubi valued His Majesty the King's emphasis that any threat to the Kingdom's northern borders or its water security represents a threat to Jordanian national security, noting that the speech reflected a firm Jordanian position in protecting the Kingdom's security, water, and the interests of its people.
He also praised His Majesty's positions toward the Palestinian cause, supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and UNRWA, and adhering to the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Al-Zoubi affirmed that the King's speech reflected Jordan's steadfastness on its principles and its adherence to diplomacy and peace, in parallel with protecting its national interests and dealing with regional and international challenges.
Al-Khasawneh
MP Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh affirmed that the speech of His Majesty King Abdullah II before the United Nations General Assembly in its eighty-first session clearly reflected the steadfastness of the Jordanian position toward the region's issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and placed the international community before its political, humanitarian, and legal responsibilities in dealing with crises and conflicts that threaten regional and international security and stability.
Al-Khasawneh said that His Majesty the King's speech came at a highly sensitive international and regional moment to confirm that the continuation of crises without just solutions cannot be an acceptable approach, and that managing conflicts and postponing their resolution only leads to deepening them and expanding their effects, noting that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, continues to present a clear vision based on just peace, respect for international law, and the protection of the rights of peoples.
He added that the Palestinian cause was present in the Royal speech as the core of the conflict and the key to stability in the region, as His Majesty the King emphasized that what is happening in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank cannot be viewed as separate events, in light of the ongoing developments that affect the lives of Palestinians, their land, and their rights, which requires a responsible international position that goes beyond crisis management to addressing its causes and roots.
Al-Khasawneh pointed out that His Majesty the King's emphasis on the necessity of ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through a just and comprehensive solution confirms the steadfastness of the Jordanian position calling for enabling the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on their national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international references.
