Al-Qadi: No leniency with criminals who have stripped themselves of humanity and chosen the path of treachery and terrorism

Speaker of the House of Representatives Mazen Al-Qadi stated that the terrorist incident that targeted the security and stability of our society at Hamoud Church in Karak Governorate is nothing but a cowardly act, condemned by all religious, moral, and national standards, and there will be no leniency with its perpetrators or those who attempt to tamper with Jordan's security or harm the unity of its people.

Al-Qadi added, in a statement on behalf of the House of Representatives, that these terrorist acts serve only the enemies of Jordan and play into the interests of all agendas that seek to escalate the situation in the region, ignite strife, and sow discord among the members of the same society.

Al-Qadi expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims whose passing has struck the hearts of the nation's people with tragedy, praying to the Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy, grant their families patience and solace, and grant the injured a speedy recovery.

Al-Qadi said that our national duty requires us to confront terrorism with firmness, strife with awareness, and hatred with tolerance, and to block the path for anyone who wants to drag our homeland into the whirlpools of conflict and division.

With all feelings of anger and condemnation, we condemn in the strongest terms the cowardly terrorist incident that targeted the security and stability of our society at Hamoud Church in Karak Governorate, and we affirm that such criminal acts that target human beings and threaten societal peace are rejected and condemned by all religious, moral, and national standards.

We affirm our confidence in the strength of the state and all its established institutions, which are capable of protecting the homeland and safeguarding its security and stability, and that the rule of law will remain above all, emphasizing that there is no impunity and no leniency with those who attempt to tamper with Jordan's security or harm the unity of its people.

As we recall with pride Karak Governorate, which combines history and firm national stances, we affirm that it was and will remain an authentic model of coexistence and cohesion among its Muslim and Christian people, who are united by land and destiny, shared joys and sorrows, and stood together in the face of challenges. Karak will remain, as we have known it, a symbol of Jordanian national unity and a witness that the bonds of brotherhood and citizenship are too deep to be affected by acts of treachery and terrorism.

The relationship that brings together Muslims and Christians in Jordan embodies a firm partnership in the past, present, and future, based on citizenship and the preservation of human dignity and the right to live in safety and freedom. Jordanians have proven that their national unity is the source of their strength, and that the religious and cultural diversity in our homeland constitutes a civilizational and human value that we cherish and protect.
