Al-Hussein Bin Talal University received an academic and student delegation from the University of Florence, Italy, within the framework of the International Credit Mobility program outside the European Union, and as part of the university’s efforts to enhance academic, research, and cultural cooperation, and expand its partnerships with international educational institutions.
During his meeting with the delegation, the Director of the International Relations Department at the university, Dr. Hassan Al-Daajah, emphasized the importance of cooperation with the University of Florence in exchanging scientific and academic expertise, developing students' skills, and providing qualitative opportunities for cultural and intellectual exchange between both sides.
Al-Daajah reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities and the prospects for its development under the "Erasmus+" program, noting that the partnership continues through a new project spanning the period 2025–2028, which includes implementing academic and student mobility activities during 2026, to enhance opportunities for exchanging expertise and open wider horizons for research and scientific cooperation.
The delegation included several members of the archaeological mission team participating in the joint research and excavation project, which is being carried out under the supervision of Professor Michele Nucciotti and Dr. Bilal Abu Hilalah, with the participation of Dr. Raffaele Ranieri.
The project covers specialized archaeological studies and research on the Crusader and Islamic periods, alongside research related to Paleolithic antiquities in the Ma'an region, contributing to documenting the cultural and archaeological heritage of the area and enhancing knowledge of its history.
