Agreement to pay tuition fees in installments for children of Social Security retirees studying at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University

Al-Hussein Bin Talal University and the Social Security Corporation signed an agreement aimed at facilitating the payment of university tuition fees for the children of retirees receiving pension salaries under the Social Security Law, by allowing tuition fees to be paid in installments deducted from pension salaries, thereby contributing to alleviating the financial burdens on retirees' families and providing an organized and accessible mechanism that allows their children to continue their university education.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University by the University President, Dr. Atef Al-Kharabsheh, and on behalf of the Social Security Corporation by its Director General, Dr. Hazem Al-Rahahleh.

Al-Kharabsheh emphasized that signing the university tuition installment agreement with the Social Security Corporation constitutes an important step toward strengthening the partnership between national institutions and providing financial facilities for the children of retirees studying at the university, which helps them continue their educational journey and eases the financial burdens on their families.

Al-Kharabsheh pointed out the university's keenness to expand areas of cooperation with national institutions and to develop the services provided to students in a way that considers their needs and circumstances and enhances their opportunities to complete their university education.

He indicated that the university is continuing to strengthen its partnerships with various national institutions and entities, which reflects positively on its students and the local community, and enhances its social responsibility and role in supporting education and providing facilities that contribute to reducing the financial burdens associated with continuing university studies.

For his part, Al-Rahahleh said that the signing of this agreement comes within the framework of the Corporation's continuous endeavor to provide more services, facilities, and privileges to its retirees, and to strengthen partnerships with higher education institutions, which reflects positively on retirees and their families and contributes to helping them meet their needs and alleviate the financial burdens placed upon them, noting that Al-Hussein Bin Talal University is the second public university to sign an agreement with the Social Security Corporation to pay university fees in installments for the children of retirees.

Al-Rahahleh valued the cooperation of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University and its keenness to provide accessible options for paying university fees, emphasizing the importance of integrating efforts between national institutions to provide quality services that meet the needs of retirees, enhance the quality of services provided to them, support the stability of their families, and enable their children to continue their university education.

Under the agreement, the university will undertake the installment of semester tuition fees due for the children of retirees enrolled at the university, with a maximum of four consecutive monthly installments, according to the installment mechanism approved by the university, while the Social Security Corporation will undertake the deduction of monthly installments from the pension salaries of the beneficiaries and transfer them to the university at the end of each month, in accordance with the mechanisms agreed upon between the two parties.

The agreement defines the mechanisms for dealing with cases in which the pension salary payment is stopped or its entitlements end, and it also stipulates the university's commitment to refund any amounts transferred to it by the Corporation without legal right.
