Al-Azzam: Electric Buses Are a Primary Option for Any Future Urban Transport Project in Irbid City

The Chairman of the Irbid Greater Municipality Committee, Professor Imad Al-Azzam, discussed with a delegation from Yutong China Bus Company, aspects of joint cooperation and investment opportunities in the city, and the possibility of benefiting from the company's expertise in the field of electric bus manufacturing.

Al-Azzam emphasized during the meeting the need for the Irbid Greater Municipality to implement a developed urban transport project that contributes to facilitating the movement of citizens between different areas of the city, indicating that the project plan is clear to the municipality, but its implementation requires providing the necessary funding.

He explained that the municipality's orientation towards clean energy makes electric buses a primary option within any future urban transport project in the city.

For their part, the Yutong Company delegation explained that the company's buses are among the best-selling in the Middle East region, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, indicating that the company has contracted with the Amman Greater Municipality to supply a number of buses for the Rapid Bus project.

The company delegation's visit to Irbed is an extension of Al-Azzam's visit to the main Yutong factory in Zhengzhou, China, during his recent visit to the People's Republic of China.
