"A Tour in the Left Hemisphere" and "The Shadow of Queens – The Queen of the East" at the Amman International Book Fair

The publications of Jordanian writer and researcher Dr. Maisoun Essa Ahmed Al-Sulaim (Maisoun Telilan), a member of the Jordanian Writers' Union, were present at the 25th Amman International Book Fair 2026, through the book 'A Tour in the Left Hemisphere' and the novel 'The Shadow of Queens – The Queen of the East', displayed among the publications of the Union members.

'A Tour in the Left Hemisphere' comes in an intellectual volume of about 800 pages, built in a cognitive path that starts with an introduction that prepares the reader for the issues discussed in the book, and is distributed in doors of sociology, politics, and economics, and'strange sciences and stranger concepts', up to 'the rules of life forty-one'.

The book also includes 'the mirror of thinkers' which brings together readings and testimonies of 29 Jordanian and Arab personalities from thinkers, academics, politicians, writers, and leaders, before moving on to a group of articles published in Jordanian and Arab press, linking the idea with reality, and between knowledge and issues that concern society.

As for the novel 'The Shadow of Queens – The Queen of the East', it presents a political and social dramatic work with a historical feminist vision, starting from a symbolic scene of a burned painting of women whose faces and names have been erased, to begin the journey of the main character 'Hagar' in searching in memory and history and the position of women in power, law, and decision-making systems. The novel progresses through six chapters, starting with 'the beginnings of intellectual cultivation' and ending with 'a new era', tracking the transformation of the character from childhood questions about justice and choice to involvement in public work and influence, within a narrative in which women's issues, leadership, memory, and change intersect. The 25th, Silver Jubilee, Amman International Book Fair is held at the Jordan International Exhibition Center in Mecca Mall, with the participation of about 400 publishing houses and institutions from 22 countries, while the Syrian Arab Republic is the guest of honor for this session.

Sulaim expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the President of the Jordanian Writers' Union and those in charge of the Union's pavilion in highlighting the members' publications and making them available to the exhibition audience, stressing the importance of book fairs in enhancing communication between the writer and the reader and expanding the presence of books in the cultural scene.
