Vocational Guidance Forum in "Al-Qasr Education" is a bridge connecting students to labor market requirements

The Vocational and Technical Guidance Forum, organized by the Vocational Education Department at the Directorate of Education for the Al-Qasr region, served as a fundamental step in introducing the "BTEC" vocational education track, highlighting it as a promising path that parallels or surpasses the academic track in securing job opportunities through the specializations it provides that touch upon the needs of the local and international labor market.

The Director of Educational Affairs for the Al-Qasr region, Dr. Baker Al-Thunaibat, who inaugurated the forum's activities at Al-Jada'a Secondary School for Girls in the presence of educational leaders and community figures, emphasized the importance of holding such awareness forums for students and their parents to learn about the new technical vocational education tracks introduced in the directorate's schools. This allows students the opportunity to choose the path that meets their ambitions, suits their interests, and provides sufficient information about the labor market and available study opportunities to choose a future profession and make appropriate decisions, in fulfillment of His Majesty the King's vision and the Ministry of Education's mission to develop vocational and technical education.

The Head of the Vocational Education Department, Engineer Mohammad Al-Khamayseh, pointed out that the new vocational education track came in line with the royal visions to develop the education system in general and vocational and technical education in particular, and to create programs that encourage entrepreneurship and innovation, reviewing the efforts of the Al-Qasr Education Directorate in the field of vocational guidance and community awareness.

Al-Khamayseh provided a detailed presentation on the BTEC program, explaining what the program is and the specializations available within it, which were designed to align educational outcomes with labor market requirements. He also clarified the program levels applied, the study stages, and the future opportunities available to students, whether through joining the labor market or completing future university studies. He also spoke about the assessment methods in the program and its importance, noting that this program is the optimal opportunity to acquire skills that contribute to reducing unemployment and provide students with promising future horizons.

Principals of vocational schools, their assistants, and quality officers in these schools spoke about the reality of their schools regarding vocational and technical education and the education tracks they manage, as well as the distinguished success rates achieved by students at the governorate level, where students from three vocational schools—Al-Mustaqbal, Prince Zeid bin Al-Hussein, and Omar bin Al-Khattab Secondary—achieved top rankings in the governorate in some BTEC tracks.

The forum's activities, which were attended by the Head of the Educational Development Council, Abeer Al-Harazneh, heads and members of school network councils, members of the Vocational Guidance Committee, heads and members of departments in the directorate, school principals, a number of educational supervisors, educational development consultants, school teachers, and the local community, included a presentation of success stories from "BTEC" graduates, and an extensive dialogue took place between the attendees and those concerned about the program and its future.
