With the start of the new academic year, Umniah, a Beyon company and ranked as the best mobile network in Jordan, returns to university campuses through the thirteenth edition of its annual "Shababi" campaign for 2026. The campaign accompanies students at the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, offering them special deals, interactive experiences, and activities that combine entertainment, communication, and engagement, while introducing them to Umniah’s services and benefits that keep pace with their daily needs.
This year, the campaign launches based on its extended presence in Jordanian universities since 2014, reaching more than 50,000 students annually across over 13 universities. It serves as an opportunity for direct engagement with youth, understanding their interests, and providing an experience that reflects their lifestyle and aspirations.
"Shababi" places students at the heart of the experience through field and interactive activities that allow them to learn about Umniah’s exclusive university offers, interact with the campaign team, and participate in an atmosphere that combines fun, connection, and the discovery of new opportunities.
Through this campaign, Umniah is keen to provide what students look for in the telecommunications network they choose during their university years, ranging from connection and internet quality to suitable offers and usage flexibility. As the best mobile network in Jordan, the company seeks to provide a reliable connectivity experience that keeps up with the daily lives of youth, whether in studies and lectures, communicating with friends, or watching content, gaming, and using digital applications that have become an essential part of their lives.
Khaldoun Sweidan, Chief Commercial Officer at Umniah, said: "University life is a stage full of new experiences, and we want Umniah to be a part of it from day one. Through 'Shababi,' we meet students at their universities, learn about what matters to them, and offer them deals and services that suit their needs and budgets. For youth, choosing a telecommunications network is not just about price, but about the quality of connection, the value they receive, and the experience that accompanies them in their studies and daily lives."
One of the most prominent features of "Shababi" is that youth do not just participate in its activities, but also execute them. The campaign relies on the Umniah Youth team, which includes young people who are hired and trained to participate in field activities, communicate directly with university students, and represent the brand.
Through this experience, team members gain practical experience in dealing with the public, communication, teamwork, and activity organization, in addition to developing professional skills that help them prepare for entering the job market. Thus, the campaign combines building a closer relationship with students and providing real opportunities for youth to gain experience and develop their capabilities.
Dina Al-Daoud, Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer at Umniah, said: "What distinguishes 'Shababi' for us is that the youth are the ones creating the experience and living it at the same time. We do not just settle for being present at universities and communicating with students; we provide young Jordanians with the opportunity to work with us, train them, and give them real responsibilities that help them gain the confidence, experience, and skills they need in their professional lives. We are proud that the campaign combines an enjoyable experience for university students with a practical opportunity for Umniah Youth team members, a relationship we are keen to sustain and develop year after year."
In its thirteenth edition, "Shababi" continues to strengthen Umniah’s presence among Jordanian university students through an experience that goes beyond introducing offers and services to building direct relationships with youth, listening to them, and involving them in activities that reflect their interests, making Umniah a part of their university experience both on and off campus.
