Umniah, a Beyon company and ranked as the best mobile network in Jordan, continues to implement its plan to develop and expand its network across various governorates of the Kingdom, aiming to enhance its capabilities and raise its readiness to keep pace with the growing growth in the use of internet and data services, and to provide a faster, more stable, and reliable communication experience for individuals and the business sector. The expansion project includes upgrading network components, increasing its capacity, and improving its performance efficiency, enabling Umniah to continue its ability to absorb the surging demand for data and telecommunications services, and to support the increasing reliance on digital services and applications in daily life and business aspects.
Network development holds special importance for the business sector, which increasingly relies on connectivity to run its operations, access cloud services, and exchange data. The expansion provides greater capacity to support business continuity and the needs of companies and institutions, with higher flexibility to keep pace with their business evolution.
Development works also reflect on the individual subscribers' experience by supporting the increasing use of the internet in remote work and learning, video calls, electronic games, and digital content platforms, alongside the ability to operate a larger number of connected devices at the same time.
As the first telecom operator to launch 5G services in Jordan, Umniah continues to implement the second phase of the 5G network expansion in strategic partnership with the global Ericsson company. This phase aims to expand coverage, increase network capacity, and raise its readiness to meet the growing digital needs of subscribers and the business sector.
These investments in the network come based on Umniah's performance, which has received international recognition by winning the "Fastest Mobile Network in Jordan" award for 2024 and the "Best Mobile Network in Jordan" award for 2025, based on test results conducted by users via Ookla's Speedtest platform under real-world usage conditions.
Umniah's Chief Technology Officer, Yousef Sater, stated: "For us, network development is not just about increasing capacity or upgrading its components, but about preparing the network for what the subscriber needs today and what they will need tomorrow. With the continuous growth in data usage and digital services, we continue to invest in a network capable of keeping pace with this growth and delivering a more stable and efficient experience for individuals and companies."
Sater added: "The second phase of the 5G network expansion in partnership with Ericsson represents an important part of this direction, through which we build upon what Umniah has achieved since the launch of 5G in Jordan. Furthermore, our ranking as the fastest mobile network in Jordan for 2024, followed by the best mobile network in Jordan for 2025 by Ookla, reflects the network's performance in real-world usage and motivates us to continue investing in its development."
The project reflects Umniah's direction towards developing its infrastructure and elevating the subscriber experience, in line with the changing needs of individuals and institutions, and supporting the growing reliance on digital services across the Kingdom.
