Solidarity stand by "Ajloun National" in rejection of terrorism

Ajloun National University organized a solidarity stand on Saturday in front of the university's educational building, condemning the attack on a church in the village of Hamoud in Karak Governorate, affirming the unity of the national ranks and the cohesion among the members of the one Jordanian family, and rejecting all forms of violence and terrorism, in the presence of the University President, Prof. Firas Al-Hanandeh, Vice President Dr. Khaled Al-Momani, members of the academic and administrative staff, and a gathering of students.

Dr. Al-Hanandeh emphasized that such terrorist attacks will not undermine the unity and cohesion of Jordanians, nor will they affect the values of fraternity, tolerance, and coexistence that bring the members of Jordanian society together, stressing the importance of standing united in the face of terrorism, safeguarding the nation's security and stability, and adhering to the national constants that form the basis of Jordan's strength and resilience.

Dr. Al-Hanandeh added that Jordanians, in all their components, form one family united by belonging to the homeland and loyalty to its Hashemite leadership, affirming the university's pride in the firm national stances of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and its keenness to instill the values of citizenship, belonging, tolerance, and dialogue among students, and to enhance their awareness of their role in protecting the social fabric and preserving the unity of Jordanian society.

The Dean of Student Affairs at the university, Dr. Yassin Al-Qudah, affirmed that organizing this stand comes as an expression of the university's position rejecting terrorism and the attack on houses of worship, and as an embodiment of feelings of solidarity with the families of the victims and the injured, pointing out that the unity and cohesion of Jordanians represent a fundamental pillar in facing challenges and maintaining the nation's security and stability.

A number of students spoke during the stand, expressing their condemnation of this attack and their pride in the stances of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and their rallying around the Hashemite leadership, confirming that Jordanians will remain united in the face of terrorism and that the values of love, brotherhood, and coexistence will remain firmly rooted in Jordanian society.

The activities of the stand began with a minute of silence in mourning for the souls of the martyrs who ascended as a result of this attack, as an expression of sadness, grief, and solidarity with their families, and praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The stand embodied a unified national position in rejecting violence and terrorism, emphasizing that the attack on houses of worship affects the values and principles of Jordanian society based on tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect, and that the unity of the national ranks will remain a foundation in protecting Jordan and maintaining its security and stability.

This event comes within the framework of Ajloun National University's keenness to perform its national and societal role, instill the values of citizenship and belonging among its students, and enhance awareness of the importance of preserving national unity and fraternity among the members of Jordanian society.
