Candlelight vigil and prayer in front of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Tla'a Al-Ali

Hundreds of citizens, both Muslim and Christian, gathered this evening in front of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Tla'a Al-Ali, where they lit candles and offered prayers for the peace, security, and tranquility of Jordan, in mercy for the souls of the martyrs, and in solidarity with the wounded, the injured, and their families.

Father Rifat Bader, parish priest and Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the strength of the Jordanian internal front, stating that national unity is the nation's impenetrable fence and the precious treasure cherished by every Jordanian citizen. He stressed the importance of rallying around the Hashemite leadership, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, whom he described as the "skilled captain of the Jordanian ship," alongside His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II.

In a moving scene that embodied the depth of Muslim-Christian brotherhood, the participants raised their candles in front of the church and chanted in one voice: "We swear by Almighty God to remain united, Muslims and Christians, forever and ever."

The vigil concluded with the singing of the national anthem "Mawtini," amidst an atmosphere of emotion and national solidarity, as those present raised their candles, prayers, and hymns, asking God to protect Jordan, its security, and its stability, to grant the security services success in apprehending the perpetrators and bringing them to justice, to shower the martyrs with His vast mercy, to grant the wounded and injured a speedy recovery, and to comfort the hearts of the martyrs' families and all Jordanians.

This vigil affirmed that Jordanians, Muslims and Christians, are one national family, united by grief just as they are united by love, growing more cohesive and unified in the face of hardships and challenges.
