The Jordanian Writers Association condemns the terrorist crime at the Karak church

With deep sadness and sorrow, and in the strongest terms of condemnation and denunciation, the Jordanian Writers Association follows the heinous crime witnessed at the Karak/Hammoud church, which represents a sinful and condemned assault on human and moral values, and on the security and stability of the nation, requiring the highest levels of condemnation and rejection.

The President of the Association, the poet Aliayan Al-Adwan, on his own behalf and on behalf of the members of the administrative and general bodies, extends his sincerest condolences and sympathy to His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, the Jordanian government, all the Jordanian people, and the families of the martyrs who ascended in this painful incident, asking God Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy and forgiveness, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.

While the Association condemns this cowardly terrorist act, it affirms that terrorism, no matter how brutal, will not undermine the determination of Jordanians, nor will it touch the dignity, security, stability, and sanctity of Jordan, and it will not succeed in undermining our national unity or tearing our cohesive social fabric, which forms an authentic Jordanian mosaic that we are proud of and cherish for its diversity and the harmony of its people.

Jordan, with its wise Hashemite leadership, the awareness of its authentic people, and the cohesion of its citizens, will remain resilient against all attempts at sedition and terrorism, and its people will remain united in the face of everything that targets the nation's security and unity. No matter how great the affliction and how intense the trials, they will only increase the cohesion, steadfastness, and determination of Jordanians to protect their homeland, safeguard its achievements, and adhere to the values of love, tolerance, and solidarity that were and will remain the basis of their strength.

The Association reaffirms its confidence in the awareness of Jordanians and their ability to thwart all attempts to tamper with the nation's security, emphasizing that national unity and solidarity among the people are the impregnable fortress in the face of terrorism and its dark ideologies.

May God have mercy on the martyrs, grant them a place in His vast paradise, and inspire their families and relatives with patience and solace. We ask God Almighty to grant the injured a full recovery, to keep Jordan dear, safe, and stable, and to protect His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, his faithful Crown Prince, our Arab Al-Mustafawi Army, our security services, and all the sons and daughters of our proud Jordanian people.
