The Jordan Press Association condemned in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist crime and the cowardly act that targeted our people in the town of Hamoud in Karak Governorate, the Karak of glory and history, during the funeral procession of a lady after prayers were held for her in a church, in a sinful assault that violates our religious, human, and national values.
The Syndicate affirmed that this heinous crime, which contradicts the teachings of heavenly religions and human values, is not an attack on the people of a specific town or group, but rather a targeting of Jordan as a whole, with its Muslims and Christians, and a desperate attempt to undermine its security, stability, national unity, and cohesive social fabric, and to strike at the model of coexistence that has always formed a firm pillar in the identity and history of the Jordanian state.
Jordan, which has preserved its national unity through the cohesion of its people and their awareness and faith in their homeland, will not allow these cowardly terrorist acts to cause it to slide into strife or undermine the unity of its people.
Terrorists, regardless of their motives and goals, will not succeed in spreading fear among Jordanians or shaking their trust in one another or compromising their national constants. Jordanians will remain a united front in the face of anyone who attempts to tamper with the nation's security or target its unity and stability.
The Syndicate expressed its absolute confidence in the ability of our security services to pursue the perpetrators of this crime, arrest them, and bring them to justice to receive their punishment in accordance with the law, stressing that the rule of law and holding criminals accountable are the way to preserve the security of society and protect citizens.
The Syndicate called on citizens, media outlets, and social media users to exercise national and professional responsibility, obtain information from its official sources, refrain from circulating rumors or publishing unreliable information that could mislead public opinion, cause anxiety and confusion, or harm the progress of investigations, and to wait for official statements that will clarify the circumstances of the crime, its details, and the parties responsible for it.
The Jordan Press Association extends its sincerest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, asking God to cover the deceased with His vast mercy, to grant their families and relatives patience and solace, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.
May God keep Jordan safe and stable, protect its people from strife and terrorism, and perpetuate the blessing of national unity, cohesion, and brotherhood among its people, under the wise Hashemite leadership.
