The University of Jordan condemns the terrorist attack on a church in Karak

The University of Jordan, represented by its President, Dr. Nathir Obeidat, and its family of faculty, administrative staff, and students, condemned the attack on a church in Karak Governorate, affirming its rejection and denunciation of any acts targeting the nation's security, stability, and the safety of its people.

In a statement today, Saturday, the university expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the victims' families, praying to the Almighty to grant them His vast mercy, bestow patience and solace upon their families, and grant the injured a speedy recovery.

Obeidat affirmed the university's absolute support for His Majesty King Abdullah II, stressing that Jordanians stand as one in the face of any attempts to undermine the Kingdom's security and stability or harm its national unity and the cohesion of its social fabric.

He added that such acts are contrary to the religious, moral, and firm national values upon which Jordanian society is built, emphasizing that Jordan will remain resilient against attempts to tamper with its security and stability, and a model of tolerance, coexistence, and national unity.

Obeidat valued the firm content expressed by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and His Majesty's emphasis on Jordanians standing as one in the face of treacherous attempts, noting that the Royal directives serve as a national compass to strengthen solidarity and cohesion in facing challenges.

He affirmed the university's confidence in the security and judicial apparatuses and their ability to deal with the incident in accordance with the law, calling on the nation's citizens to strengthen their unity and stand firmly against any attempts to incite strife or destabilize, so that Jordan remains safe and impregnable under its Hashemite leadership, the awareness of its people, and the cohesion of its internal front.
