The UAE Public Prosecutor, Hamad Saif Al-Shamsi, announced on Saturday that investigations into the Flydubai flight incident revealed that the co-pilot had initiated a terrorist operation.
Al-Shamsi explained that the co-pilot began executing his plan during the flight, assaulting the captain inside the cockpit using an "emergency axe" and attempting to take control of the aircraft's controls.
He confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover all circumstances, motives, and related connections of the incident, alongside completing technical examinations and inspecting material and digital evidence.
He pointed out that the final results will be announced once the necessary procedures are completed.
