The official spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Turki Al-Maliki, announced on Monday that the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition had carried out a qualitative military operation aimed at neutralizing sources of threat, based on the inherent and legitimate right to self-defense to protect the security and safety of Saudi territory, and in response to the repeated attacks by the Houthis in their attempts to target civilians in Saudi Arabia and Yemen using ballistic missiles and drones.

Al-Maliki said in a statement that the qualitative operation included the destruction and neutralization of legitimate military targets in areas controlled by the Houthi militia, as the operation included the destruction of 5 tunnels for storing ballistic missiles, 4 ballistic missile launch pads, and a missile depot, and focused on cutting off the Houthi militia's supply lines between its areas of control. The operation also included targeting the militia's fortifications and gatherings of its elements and military equipment on the front lines inside Yemen.
