Two Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gunfire and two others were arrested on Monday during an Israeli army raid on the Qalandia refugee camp north of occupied East Jerusalem and the town of Abu Dis southeast of the city.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a brief statement that its crews treated a 17-year-old boy who was shot in the leg with live ammunition during the Israeli army's raid on Qalandia camp and transported him to the hospital for treatment.
For its part, the Jerusalem Governorate reported in separate statements that the Israeli army wounded a young man with rubber-coated metal bullets during its raid on the camp.
It added that Israeli forces deployed snipers in the camp's streets and fired tear gas canisters heavily at its entrance, along with sound grenades, amid restrictions on Palestinians.
The Governorate stated that the Israeli army arrested a young man during its ongoing raid on the camp.
In the town of Abu Dis, southeast of Jerusalem, the Governorate reported that Israeli forces raided a commercial shop, detained everyone inside, subjected them to searches, and then arrested one of them and took him to an unknown location.
Concurrently with the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza since October 2023, the Israeli army and settlers have escalated their attacks in the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.
This has resulted in the killing of more than 1,220 Palestinians and the injury of about 13,350 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 26,000.
