Two settlers were seriously injured and two others sustained minor injuries on Friday near the city of Hebron, according to the "Yedioth Ahronoth" newspaper.
Later, Israeli Channel 12 quoted "Magen David Adom" crews as saying that the number of injured rose to 5, including two in serious condition, one in moderate condition, and two with minor injuries.
The newspaper quoted a witness as saying that the shooting continued for more than 20 minutes, which prevented the evacuation of the injured.
For its part, the Israeli occupation army stated that the perpetrators of the operation were killed after a brief pursuit while "attempting to flee," and imposed a security cordon on the neighboring villages.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian News Agency "Wafa" reported that Israeli occupation forces fired live bullets at two young men at the northern entrance to the city of Hebron.
It quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the Israeli occupation forces stationed at the military checkpoint at the northern entrance to the city of Hebron ("Farsh al-Hawa") fired live bullets towards two young men, resulting in their injury and fall to the ground, with preliminary reports of their martyrdom without their identities being known.
