Settler terrorism in the West Bank: 3 Palestinians injured and 13 attacks documented

Three Palestinians were injured, on Tuesday evening, in attacks carried out by Israeli settlers in various areas of the occupied West Bank, while a Palestinian body documented 13 attacks and violations by the Israeli army and settlers.

Human rights activist Osama Makhamreh said, in a statement distributed to journalists, that settlers attacked the residence of Palestinian Abdul Mohsen Rashid in Khirbet Hreibat al-Nabi in Masafer Yatta, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and beat members of his family.

He added that the attack resulted in two people sustaining fractures and injuries, and they were transferred to Yatta Governmental Hospital to receive treatment.

In a separate incident, Makhamreh stated that settlers from the "Susya" settlement attacked the Al-Masri family while they were harvesting olives east of the town of Yatta and assaulted its members.

He explained that the Palestinian Bashar Khalil Al-Masri (60 years old) sustained bruises and was transferred to Yatta Hospital, pointing out that the settlers stole the family's olive crop.

Also in the southern West Bank, the official "Voice of Palestine" radio station reported that settlers stabbed a young man from the village of Al-Rashayida, southeast of Bethlehem, without providing further details on his condition.

For its part, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said that it documented, on Tuesday, 13 incidents of attacks and violations carried out by the Israeli army and settlers during the day, targeting Palestinians, their lands, and their properties.

It explained that these attacks included "attacking farmers, preventing olive harvesting, stealing crops and equipment, cutting down trees, storming houses, stealing sheep, closing roads and entrances, and expanding a colonial outpost."

In the same context, the "Al-Bayader" human rights organization stated in a statement that settlers seized sheep belonging to a Palestinian from the Arab Al-Kaabneh community in the town of Rammoun, east of Ramallah in the central West Bank.

It added that the attack harms Palestinian property and sources of livelihood, especially since sheep and livestock breeding constitute a major source of income for many families in Bedouin communities.

Settler attacks against Palestinians and their lands in the West Bank escalate during the olive harvest season, and include attacking farmers, preventing them from reaching their lands, stealing crops, and destroying trees.

Official Palestinian data indicate the presence of about 750,000 Israeli settlers in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, distributed across 194 settlements and about 400 settlement outposts.
