President Donald Trump announced early Thursday that China and the United States agree in their opposition to imposing regulatory restrictions on artificial intelligence, indicating ahead of an upcoming summit with his counterpart Xi Jinping that the American legal system will regulate this technology.
Trump, using his new term to define artificial intelligence, said, "Superintelligence will be a major focus of the discussion, but I want to keep things exactly as they are," adding, "That is also China's position, and our safety valve is the US Department of Justice."
