US President Donald Trump today described critics of artificial intelligence as "very negative forces" that raise unfounded fears about AI, affirming that he wants to ensure the US remains a leader in this sector.
Speaking at his golf course in Ireland to journalists in response to a question about whether the development of the AI sector should be slowed down or subjected to more regulation, Trump said, "We are ahead of China in the field of artificial intelligence. We are the most advanced country in the world, and frankly, I want to maintain this status, because the winner of artificial intelligence is the winner."
