US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the current rise in gasoline prices is no longer linked to the Strait of Hormuz, noting that record amounts of oil are flowing through the strait almost daily.
Trump added that the reason for the rise in gasoline prices is due to Ukraine targeting Russian oil refineries.
Trump's statements come as crude oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz have returned to levels close to pre-war levels, while fuel markets continue to be affected by refining energy disruptions and attacks on oil facilities.
