The occupation continues to close roads and entrances in Bethlehem Governorate for the fifth day

For the fifth consecutive day, the Israeli occupation forces continue to close roads and entrances in Bethlehem Governorate, hindering the movement of Palestinians between towns, villages, and the city center.

A Palestinian security source reported that the closure includes the entrances of Al-Nashash, Qasr Nassar, and Al-Sadr, the road connecting the villages of Al-Jaba'a and Nahalin, and the main entrances to the villages of Wadi Fukin, Husan, Nahalin, and Battir in the western countryside of the governorate.

The source added that the occupation forces continue to close the entrances to the villages of Marah Rabah, Umm Salamuna, Jurat ash-Sham'a, and Al-Manshiya in the south, in addition to all entrances to the town of Tuqu' southeast of the governorate.

These closures force Palestinians to take alternative routes, some of which are dirt and rugged, which increases the difficulty of reaching their workplaces and meeting their daily needs.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the number of checkpoints and obstacles in the West Bank has reached 942, including 824 permanent checkpoints and closure points, and 118 linear obstacles, with their total length reaching about 107.7 kilometers, according to United Nations data.
