Israelis began voting on Tuesday in the first general election held since the October 7, 2023 attack, amid anticipation to see the voters' stance on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
About 7.3 million people are eligible to vote, and the latest opinion polls published before the election showed a close race between Netanyahu, the longest-serving prime minister in Israel's history, and his main center-right rival, Gadi Eisenkot.
