US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Ukraine has agreed not to target Russian energy facilities, and Russia has agreed to do the same.
Trump added, via his account on 'Truth Social', that the global rise in diesel prices is largely due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, not Iran.
Trump had said on Sunday that the shortage of diesel fuel is caused by what is happening between Russia and Ukraine, not what is happening in the Middle East, calling on his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop targeting diesel infrastructure in Russia.
He added to journalists during a visit to Ireland that there are many targets he could strike, but he should stop striking diesel, noting that targeting diesel fuel and diesel facilities causes a shortage.
He continued, 'You must stop disrupting diesel fuel supplies in Russia.'
