Trump accuses Iran of fabricating reports about attacks and mines in the Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that Iran is doing everything it can to raise oil prices ahead of the US midterm elections, accusing it of fabricating reports about attacks and naval mines, even though the amounts of oil currently passing through the Strait of Hormuz exceed levels recorded before the outbreak of the conflict.

Trump added, via the "Truth Social" platform, that Iran continues to kill protesters and anyone who stands in its way.

During an election rally ahead of the midterm elections, Trump indicated that the United States wants to ensure the results of what it has achieved in Iran last for a long time, pointing out that it could withdraw now, but it seeks to ensure the sustainability of those results.

He continued that the United States destroyed Iran's capability for nuclear enrichment through Operation "Midnight Hammer" and Operation "Epic Fury".
