The Pentagon confirmed on Sunday, reports that the United States has withdrawn all its "B-1" bombers from RAF Fairford Air Base, where a mysterious incident led to evacuations in the surrounding areas.
A statement from a Pentagon official said, "We can now confirm that all American bombers that were deployed at RAF Fairford have been redeployed to their original bases in the United States."
Police were called to the base in southwest England last Sunday after a local farmer reported suspicious activity by a group of men, but investigators found no explosives, and the five British nationals who were detained in connection with the incident were released on bail.
