The occupation continues its aggression against Hebron and forcibly displaces 537 families

The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression against the Hebron Governorate, amid an escalation of raids, arrests, and forced displacement operations. The number of families who have been displaced from their homes has risen to 537 families, while more than 780 families have been affected by the aggression, which imposes a siege on areas in the governorate and disrupts educational and economic life.

The occupation forces deployed military reinforcements to the Deir Balah area west of Hebron, after forcing dozens of families to flee, coinciding with raiding homes and destroying their contents. Approximately 5,000 Palestinians are facing conditions of siege and forced displacement, either by being forced to leave their homes or being detained inside them, especially in the Al-Jalda and Deir Balah areas, which are under strict lockdown.

According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), the occupation forces have arrested more than 115 Palestinians from Hebron city since the start of the aggression, including a girl, and have detained hundreds of Palestinians and subjected them to torture.

Economically, the Hebron Chamber of Commerce estimated the direct losses resulting from the closures at between 10 and 12 million shekels daily, including about one million shekels in the dairy sector alone.

The aggression has also disrupted education for approximately 262,000 students in 589 schools across the governorate during the past week, while thousands of students in besieged and displaced areas remain unable to reach their schools.

In a related context, the occupation forces verbally notified the owners of a tile exhibition in the Farsh al-Hawa area west of Hebron to evacuate it as a prelude to its demolition within 24 hours. They brought in a military bulldozer and forced Palestinians to leave the area.

In the Gaza Strip, 4 Palestinians were martyred and others were injured as a result of the ongoing shelling and gunfire by the occupation forces in various areas of the Strip.

Correspondents reported the martyrdom of a Palestinian who succumbed to injuries sustained in a previous airstrike targeting Tel al-Hawa neighborhood southwest of Gaza City, and another who was targeted by a drone near the Electricity Company northwest of al-Nuseirat Refugee Camp in the central Gaza Strip.

A Palestinian was also martyred in a drone strike near Tayba Towers west of Khan Younis, while another Palestinian succumbed to injuries sustained in an airstrike targeting him near the Unity Tower west of Gaza City.

Four Palestinians were injured by gunfire and shelling from the occupation forces in the Maghazi and Shati refugee camps in central Gaza and west of Gaza City.

The death toll from the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 74,594 martyrs and 175,834 injured.

Arrests in the West Bank

In the West Bank, the occupation forces arrested 6 Palestinians, including a former prisoner who was rearrested one day after his release, and a woman.

The occupation forces also rearrested a former prisoner from Azmut village east of Nablus, one day after his release.

They also arrested 3 Palestinians, including a woman, in various neighborhoods of Jenin City, and arrested a Palestinian while he was picking olives in Ras Karakr village west of Ramallah, and another from Taqu’ town southeast of Bethlehem.

In Ramallah, the occupation forces confiscated olive-picking tools and set up military checkpoints at the entrances to several villages and towns.

Settler Attacks

In a related context, a Palestinian sustained head injuries after settlers attacked a number of Palestinians in the Al-Shajara area east of Duma village south of Nablus.

The head of the Duma Village Council said that the occupation forces stormed the village following the attack, closed its main entrance, and detained an ambulance that had arrived to transport the injured person.

In Salfit, settlers attacked and beat a Palestinian from Kafr ad-Dik town, and they also stormed Yasuf town east of the governorate and wandered between houses, especially in the Al-Nusba area.

Settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles between Al-Mughair and Abu Flah villages northeast of Ramallah, causing material damage to several of them.

In Bethlehem, settlers, under the protection of occupation forces, stole olives and harvesting tools in Al-Khader town and threatened Palestinians not to return to their lands.

Settlers also attacked olive pickers in Wadi ash-Shaar area east of Salfit, resulting in injuries to Palestinians.

The occupation forces also forced farmers to leave their lands in Al-Wajh al-Qibli area of Deir Istiya town near the “Rafafa” settlement and prevented them from continuing to harvest olives.

In the Hebron Governorate, settlers attacked olive pickers in Khirbet al-Kharaba east of Al-Samou’ town, forcing them to leave their lands and stealing the fruits at gunpoint.

In the Ma’in area east of Yatta town, armed settlers, under the protection of occupation forces, attempted to prevent Palestinians from harvesting olives, while the occupation forces detained machinery belonging to Yatta Municipality in Shakara area, under the pretext of being in a classified Area (C).

Measures in Jerusalem and Ramallah

In Jerusalem, the occupation municipality forced a Palestinian, Jihad Mattar, to demolish his two-apartment house, one of which belongs to him and the other to his son, in Al-Marwa neighborhood in Beit Hanina town, under the pretext of construction without a license, leaving more than 7 individuals homeless.

In western Ramallah, the occupation forces, accompanied by settlers, stopped the paving work on Al-Qara’ Street between Safa and Deir Ibzi’ villages, confiscated machinery, and threatened the workers with removing what had been paved.

The occupation forces also confiscated money from Palestinian vehicles they had detained for inspection at Jab’a roundabout south of Jenin. A video documented by a public transport driver showed soldiers confiscating 2,500 shekels from his vehicle after removing its private safe.
