Displacement of more than 200 families as the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression against Hebron continues

Since Friday, Israeli occupation forces have forced about 1,500 Palestinians to evacuate their homes in the Deir Baha and Al-Jalda areas of Hebron, while intending to displace about 2,500 other Palestinians over the coming hours, as part of their ongoing aggression against the governorate, which has led to the displacement of more than 200 families who are now homeless.

Hebron Governor Khaled Dudin confirmed that the ongoing aggression has led to the displacement of more than 200 families, calling for urgent international and legal intervention to halt the crimes of the Israeli occupation, according to the Palestinian official news agency "WAFA".

Dudin explained that the governorate, through its institutions and tribal communities, is working to form a crisis management committee to assist the displaced and affected, following the declaration of a state of emergency since Friday.

For his part, Hebron Mayor Youssef Al-Jabari stated that the occupation forces seek to displace about 2,500 Palestinians from the two areas, which cover an area of about 350 dunams, and their plans target about 200 families, pointing out that the occupation forces marked the evacuated homes and distributed notices demanding that the remaining families leave without taking their vehicles.

As part of their tight military restrictions on Hebron governorate, the occupation forces also closed the main road leading to the village of Kharsa using earthen mounds and concrete blocks, hindering access to a number of villages and communities. They also closed a number of entrances leading to Al-Arroub camp, which serves as a gateway to Bethlehem governorate, and closed all entrances and roads in the southern area of Hebron city, permanently sealing the iron gates.

The occupation has continued its aggression against Hebron governorate since Friday, which included the demolition of buildings and commercial shops in the Farsh al-Hawa area, raiding and searching homes, and arresting at least 13 Palestinians, alongside closing the entrances to the city, villages, towns, and camps.

In a related context, occupation forces forced families to spend the night in the open air after evicting them from their homes, while Israeli media reported the beginning of taking control of buildings in the city to reinforce control over road junctions leading to settlements.

On Friday, occupation forces demolished a three-apartment residential building in the Farsh al-Hawa area west of Hebron, closed the area and its main entrance—which is the sole exit connecting the city to the bypass road—preventing Palestinians and their vehicles from entering or leaving. They also closed all entrances and roads leading to Hebron.

The Palestinian government warned of the gravity of the ongoing Israeli escalation in the West Bank, the latest manifestation of which is what Hebron governorate is witnessing in terms of collective punishment measures, including the displacement of entire neighborhoods, the demolition of homes and facilities, and the closure and siege of Palestinian cities, as part of a systematic policy pursued by the occupation government in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the northern West Bank camps and cities continue to suffer from the repercussions of displacement and demolition, after more than 40,000 Palestinians were forced to leave their homes since the beginning of 2025.

The government described this criminal escalation as an act of aggression targeting the Palestinian people, their land, and their resources, and held the occupation government fully responsible for this dangerous overreach, calling on the international community to intervene urgently and immediately to stop the occupation and its government from continuing to commit further crimes taking place in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation army announced on Friday evening the launch of a military operation in the West Bank lasting several days, coinciding with incursions into Palestinian cities and towns, including Hebron, Nablus, Tubas, the northern town of Aqaba, and Qalqilya.

In a statement, the occupation army said the operation targets dozens of areas across the West Bank, noting that the operation in Hebron focuses on searching the area from which the perpetrators of the Hebron operation set out, to uncover weapons and infrastructure, with the participation of the Israeli intelligence agency (Shin Bet) and border guard forces.

It added that residents in the operation zone will be able to leave through 3 exits, after undergoing security inspection and interrogation.
