The Hashemite Fund for Military Veterans continues to provide care and rehabilitation services to beneficiaries

The Hashemite Fund for Military Veterans provides distinctive services to injured military personnel and their families through an integrated system of healthcare, social support, financial aid, and rehabilitation, in recognition of their sacrifices and service, in coordination with official, private institutions and relevant entities.

Hamdan Al-Musharafa, Head of the Fund’s Northern Branch, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the services provided by the Fund include financial assistance such as: the King’s grant for war-injured veterans and the Crown Prince’s grant, temporary monthly allowances for injured and sick military personnel, in addition to emergency financial aid and transportation allowances for kidney failure patients.

He indicated that the Fund provides medical assistance tailored to the nature of injuries and beneficiaries’ needs, including manual and electric wheelchairs, medical beds and mattresses, walking aids, suction and nebulizer devices, and other medical supplies and equipment.

To enhance its capacity to meet medical needs, the Fund established a workshop at its headquarters for the maintenance and manufacturing of medical devices. Its activities have included producing medical beds, ramps, chairs, and assistive devices for the injured, helping meet their needs and facilitating access to these services.

Al-Musharafa noted that the Fund gives special attention to rehabilitation and social integration through physical therapy programs, vocational and cognitive rehabilitation, training beneficiaries and their children in skills that enable them to join the labor market, in addition to coordinating with official and private entities to provide employment opportunities.

He pointed out that the Fund’s programs include organizing therapeutic, recreational, and cultural trips, Hajj and Umrah missions, religious visits, and sports activities, as well as assisting in repairing beneficiaries’ homes and providing soft loans for establishing productive projects in cooperation with concerned institutions.

Al-Musharafa emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with public and private sector institutions to support the Fund’s programs and expand its services, noting that limited financial resources, the reluctance of some companies to provide support, and the difficulty of securing job opportunities for beneficiaries and their children represent the main challenges facing the Fund’s work.

He highlighted the Fund’s aspiration to develop its services and introduce new means to facilitate access for beneficiaries, attract funding grants to launch individual productive projects for qualified beneficiaries, diversify the Fund’s income sources through investment projects, and enhance cooperation with supporting institutions.

The number of registered military injured beneficiaries in the Northern Branch is 1,244, distributed across the governorates: Irbid with 725 beneficiaries, Mafraq with 190, Ajloun with 180, and Jerash with 149, reflecting the significant responsibility carried by the branch in following up on this group’s affairs and delivering necessary services.
