Tens of Thousands Perform Friday Prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque Amidst Settler Incursions

Tens of thousands of worshippers performed Friday prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Temple Mount, despite the measures and restrictions imposed by the occupation forces on those arriving in the Old City and the mosque.

The Islamic Endowment Authority in Jerusalem reported that tens of thousands performed Friday prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Palestinian media reported that the Israeli occupation forces prevented dozens of young men from reaching the Al-Aqsa Mosque after stopping and checking their IDs, and they were heavily deployed around the Old City and the mosque.

Separately, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that the number of settlers who stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Hebrew holiday season (from the beginning of the Hebrew New Year until the end of the incursions last Thursday) reached 11,409 settlers, amid a clear escalation in the frequency of incursions, religious rituals, and accompanying occupation procedures inside and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

These incursions were accompanied by more overt and widespread religious practices and rituals, with the participation of Israeli ministers, rabbis, officials, and political figures.

The Jerusalem Governorate stressed that what is happening in and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque represents a serious escalation targeting its Islamic identity and its historical and legal status.

Today, Friday, October 2, marks the days of the Feast of Tabernacles, followed by Saturday, October 3, the so-called 'Simchat Torah' (Joy of the Torah').
