Flights were temporarily suspended at Luxembourg Airport overnight until Saturday morning after drones were spotted flying near its airspace.
The airport announced in a statement published on its website that "flight operations at Luxembourg Airport... resumed after a temporary suspension... due to the detection of unauthorized unmanned aircraft systems (drones) in the vicinity of the airport, and then over its runway"
The statement added that this suspension was "a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers, airline crews, airport staff, and aircraft"
The statement did not identify the source of the spotted drones, indicating that the airport continues to monitor the situation and warns of potential delays and disruptions in air traffic.
