Flights in Britain experienced new disruptions on Monday and some were canceled due to technical issues at the air navigation control authority, marking the second such disruption in two weeks.
The authority, which has seen several malfunctions in the past years, apologized for the recent incident that occurred at a center in Scotland, confirming that it has been fixed.
The authority stated in a statement, "We are working with airports and airlines to minimize any additional disruptions."
This follows a disruption on September 8 and 9, when a software glitch caused the cancellation of over two thousand flights in Britain and delayed a large number of flights, affecting more than 330,000 passengers.
In the latest update, the aviation data analysis company "SIRIUM" reported the cancellation of 72 flights out of more than six thousand flights to or from Britain.
It pointed out that while Glasgow and Belfast airports recorded a large number of cancellations, London area airports were not significantly affected.
The Irish airline "Ryanair" once again called for the resignation of the authority's CEO, Martin Rolf, who received support from the British government following the incident earlier this month.
In 2023, Britain witnessed the worst air navigation system disruption in years, with over 700,000 passengers affected by delayed or canceled flights.
