Queen Alia International Airport welcomed 1,041,415 passengers in August 2026, recording a noticeable increase of 7.6% compared to July 2026, and a slight decrease of 3.7% compared to August 2025. The airport recorded 7,868 aircraft movements, an increase of 6.3% compared to the previous month, and a decrease of 6.1% on an annual basis. At the same time, the airport handled 7,925 tons of air cargo during the month, an increase of 4.4% compared to July 2026, and an increase of 3.7% compared to the same month last year.
In light of ongoing challenges and instability in the region, the results for August indicate a noticeable improvement in activity following the fluctuations experienced in the previous months of the year, where the significant increases on a monthly basis in passenger traffic, aircraft, and air cargo reflect the airport's ability to accommodate the growing demand during the peak of the summer travel season.
Commenting on these results, the CEO of the International Airport Group, Nicola D'Felici, said: "The results for August reflect the continuous role of Queen Alia International Airport in supporting tourism and economic activity in Jordan, with the number of passengers through the airport exceeding one million during the month. This level of traffic, achieved during one of the busiest periods of the year, confirms the airport's ability to handle increased demand while maintaining operational efficiency and reliability. We continue our commitment to enhancing infrastructure and services at Queen Alia International Airport, ensuring that we continue to meet the expectations of our passengers and airline partners, and support the airport's role in enhancing Jordan's air connectivity with the region and the world."
