A Palestinian delegation, headed by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, paid their condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack that targeted Hamoud Church in Karak, commissioned by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The delegation included the Palestinian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Atallah Khairy, and member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and head of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs, Ramzi Khoury, along with a number of Palestinian figures.
In a speech delivered on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian leadership, the Palestinian people, and the members of the delegation, the Mufti said that he extends his condolences to His Majesty King Abdullah II and to the brotherly Jordanian people for the victims of the attack, whose perpetrators he described as having transcended the simplest human values.
He emphasized that the delegation insisted on coming from Palestine, despite the difficulties, to offer condolences, expressing his appreciation to His Majesty the King for his Hashemite custodianship of the holy sites and his great stances.
He prayed to God to cover the victims with His vast mercy, grant their families patience and solace, grant the injured a speedy recovery, and protect Jordan and its people from all harm.
The condolences were offered at the headquarters of the Hamoud Charitable Society, where the accompanying delegation affirmed that this visit embodies the ties of blood, common destiny, and unity of position between the two brotherly peoples, stressing that the security and stability of Jordan constitute an extension of the security and stability of Palestine, and that Palestinian-Jordanian relations are based on firm bonds of brotherhood and solidarity.
