Momni Emphasizes the Importance of Utilizing Technology in Media Development

- Human Element is a Fundamental Pillar in Media Work

The Minister of Government Communication, the official government spokesperson, Dr. Mohammad Momni, emphasized the importance of employing artificial intelligence tools and technological advancements in developing media work and enhancing the ability of media institutions to produce content efficiently and accurately, stressing the necessity for these tools to be used under the leadership of professional journalists.

Momni said in a statement to "Alrai," that technological development and artificial intelligence offer significant benefits and vast potential for media work development, but benefiting from them requires attention to the negatives and challenges that may accompany them, ensuring their use in a way that serves media work and enhances its quality.

He added that investing in artificial intelligence tools and modern technology benefits official and media institutions, as these tools provide opportunities to develop work mechanisms, save time, and improve content accuracy and quality.

Momni stressed that technology, no matter how advanced its tools, cannot replace the pivotal role of the professional journalist, who bears the responsibility of editorial decision-making, building trust with the public, and presenting the news story within its correct context.

He explained that the journalist's responsibility is not limited to conveying information but includes interpreting the news story, clarifying its causes, different dimensions, and historical context, enabling the viewer and reader to understand events comprehensively.

Momni affirmed that the human element will remain a fundamental pillar in the media process, pointing out that employing artificial intelligence tools and digital media technologies will enhance the capabilities of media institutions and improve their performance, provided that a professional framework is adhered to that maintains trust, credibility, and content quality.
