Al-Momani: Professional and independent media is an element of state power

Minister of Government Communications and Government Spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Momani, affirmed on Friday that independent, professional, and expert media constitutes an element of state power, stressing the importance of its commitment to honesty and defending just causes and the rights of peoples.
During the Arab Media Dialogue Forum, held as part of the "Future of Media and Communication" forum, Al-Momani stated that the true sustenance of media is honesty, noting that professional media plays an important role in correcting the course and contributing to policy-making.
He added that independent and professional media is more capable of safeguarding the state's interests, emphasizing the importance of its role in addressing various issues with professionalism and responsibility.
Al-Momani stressed the necessity of defending just causes and the rights of peoples, considering this part of the role that media undertakes in conveying facts and expressing humanitarian issues.
