The Minister of Government Communication and official government spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Momani, affirmed on Friday that Christians are an authentic and integral part of the Jordanian national fabric, and that their presence is deeply rooted in the history, identity, and national narrative of this land, stressing that any attack on any Jordanian, regardless of their religion or belief, is an attack on Jordan as a whole.
Al-Momani said that Christians are partners in Jordan's history, present, and future, affirming that the terrorist crime that targeted a church in the village of Hammoud in Karak Governorate will not succeed in spreading fear or sowing discord among Jordanians, nor in undermining their unity, cohesion, and the values of coexistence.
He added that "the blood of every Jordanian citizen is precious to all Jordanians, and the lives, security, and safety of Jordanians are above all considerations," affirming that this crime is an attack on Jordan as a whole.
Al-Momani prayed for the national martyrs who died in the attack, affirming that the perpetrators of the crime will receive punishment at the hands of the security apparatus, and that the terrorist crime will not pass without holding everyone behind it accountable.
He said that the state has pursued and is pursuing the criminals who committed this crime, and that the security agencies are pursuing everyone who had a hand in it, stressing that the state will not be lenient in pursuing the perpetrators.
