Minister of Awqaf denounces the attack on a church in Karak and affirms that national unity is a red line

The Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, strongly denounced the attack targeting a church in Karak Governorate on Friday, affirming the rejection of any attack on places of worship or anything that compromises the security and safety of citizens, which contradicts the teachings of the Islamic religion and the values of tolerance, brotherhood, and coexistence.

Al-Khalaileh affirmed that the sanctity of places of worship is protected, and that tampering with them is religiously, morally, and nationally unacceptable, and that what happened is a cowardly terrorist act, stressing that Jordanians, Muslims and Christians, form a single national fabric, and that national unity is a red line that must not be compromised.

He praised the efforts of the security agencies, expressing his confidence in their ability to uncover the circumstances of the incident and hold those responsible accountable according to the law, calling on citizens and the media to exercise accuracy in circulating information, avoid rumors that might stir up sedition or affect community peace, and await official statements issued by the competent authorities.

He affirmed that the Ministry of Awqaf continues its efforts in spreading correct religious awareness and promoting the values of moderation, tolerance, and respect for others, contributing to protecting society and consolidating its national unity.

May God protect Jordan, its leadership and people, and perpetuate upon it the blessing of security and stability.
