Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, affirmed that the attack that targeted mourners at Hamoud Church in Karak Governorate is a heinous crime and a national tragedy that has affected all Jordanians, stressing that Jordanian blood is precious to all the nation's people.
During his visit to offer condolences to the victims' families, accompanied by the Ministry's Secretary-General Dr. Ismail Al-Khataba and senior ministry officials, Al-Khalayleh said that Muslims and Christians are united by the bond of the homeland, a common destiny, and rallying around the Hashemite leadership, emphasizing that extremism and terrorism have no religion, and that such crimes will not undermine the unity and cohesion of Jordanians.
He added that Jordan has never known sectarian conflicts and has provided a model for religious coexistence and communal living, noting that terrorism has previously targeted Jordanians from various components, and that everyone is called upon today to stand as one to preserve the security, stability, and image of the nation, which is based on love and brotherhood.
Al-Khalayleh affirmed that Jordanians are one family united by belonging to the homeland and loyalty to the Hashemite leadership, recalling the sacrifices of the members of the security services who gave their lives in defense of Jordan's security and stability.
The Minister of Awqaf also visited the injured in the incident who are receiving treatment at Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein Military Hospital and Karak Governmental Hospital, checked on their health conditions, and listened to a briefing from the specialized medical staff regarding their health status, which was described as good and stable.
Al-Khalayleh prayed to God to shower the martyrs with His vast mercy, to grant the injured a speedy recovery, and to keep Jordan safe and stable under the Hashemite leadership.
