The Greek Orthodox Church in Madaba opened a house of condolences this Monday evening to receive condolences for the martyrs of the cowardly terrorist act that targeted Hamoud Church in Karak Governorate, in a solidarity stand that reflects the unity of the Jordanian tragedy and the categorical rejection of this heinous crime.
Official, religious, and popular figures flocked to the house of condolences, led by Madaba Governor Muhieddin Al-Adwan, directors of security services, the Mayor of Madaba, along with a number of the governorate's notables and deputies, and the pastor of the Greek Orthodox Church and the South, Archimandrite Andraos Shamia, with wide participation from the governorate's figures and notables, both Christian and Muslim.
Archimandrite Andraos Shamia emphasized during the reception that this condolence is not for the church alone, but rather a condolence that represents all the people of Madaba Governorate in the face of a crime that affected every Jordanian home, stressing that this stand sends a clear and evident message confirming the depth of love, cohesion, and the firm national unity among the people of one nation.
For his part, Madaba Governor Muhieddin Al-Adwan expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy for this treacherous criminal act, confirming that this grave tragedy is the tragedy of the entire nation.
He affirmed that this cohesion embodies what His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II expressed, in standing as one rank and with one heart to reject and condemn these actions that are alien and strange to Jordanian society and its values.
The large crowds that flocked to the house of condolences expressed their deep sadness and intense anger regarding this crime, confirming their full solidarity with the families of the victims and the injured, and stressing that Jordan will remain resilient against all attempts to undermine its security, stability, and solid social fabric.
