French President Emmanuel Macron, during his current tour of the Gulf, has secured pledges to provide additional quantities of diesel for his country, including 200,000 tons per month from the UAE and Bahrain, the Élysée Palace announced on Tuesday.
The presidential palace stated that Macron secured pledges to receive about 100,000 tons of diesel per month from the UAE, while pledges to provide an additional 100,000 tons per month are expected during his visit to Bahrain on Tuesday.
It added that France, after accounting for the quantities previously secured from Saudi Arabia, amounting to 95,000 tons per month during October and November, has now obtained pledges for total supplies of 295,000 tons per month, which is slightly more than 10% of its diesel consumption.
