Iran: New operational plans to push US ships 500 kilometers away from our coasts

Iranian Army spokesperson Mohammad Nia said on Friday that Iran has new operational plans underway that will force US ships to retreat and move away to a distance of 500 kilometers from Iranian coasts.

The Iranian Tasnim news agency quoted Nia as saying that US President Donald Trump's claims regarding the destruction of Iranian defense capabilities are "incorrect," pointing out that field realities show the opposite, as he put it.

He added that Iranian defense forces have shot down US drones in Iranian airspace over recent weeks.

He explained that the western part of the Strait of Hormuz is under the strategic control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, while the eastern part of the Strait, the Sea of Oman, the Arabian Sea, and the northern Indian Ocean fall within the mission scope and control of the Iranian Army Navy.

Nia pointed out that US warships were forced to move more than 500 kilometers away from Iranian coasts, adding that these ships are no longer currently present in the Sea of Oman.

He warned commercial vessels and their owners regarding transiting the Strait of Hormuz, saying that safe passage through the Strait can only be achieved by coordinating with the Iranian armed forces.

He noted that vessels that complied with the specified regulations and coordinated with the Iranian armed forces were able to cross the Strait easily.
