Inauguration of the Stroke Unit at Al Hussein "Salt New" Hospital

The Stroke Unit at Al Hussein "Salt New" Hospital was inaugurated yesterday evening, coinciding with the 13th Change Day launched by the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC), and in conjunction with the World Patient Safety Day launched by the World Health Organization.

The inauguration of this unit is part of the continuous development of health services, enhancing the speed of response to emergency cases, and providing safe and effective patient-centered healthcare that has a real impact on treatment outcomes, in line with the approach of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ibrahim Al Baddour, to develop specialized health services and improve the quality of care provided to citizens.

During the inauguration of the unit, the hospital director, Dr. Mohannad Al Hadidi, said that the Stroke Unit represents a qualitative leap in the care of stroke patients, through rapid diagnosis and intervention within the optimal treatment time, the integration of a multidisciplinary team, and close patient follow-up; believing that time in stroke is not just minutes but brain cells, functions, and lives that can be saved.

Al Hadidi added that the concept of the "golden hour" has been practically applied to a number of cases, reflecting the transition of change from an idea to practice, and from practice to tangible results on the ground.

He pointed out that on Change Day, we celebrate not only the inauguration of a unit but also an institutional culture that believes that real change is what reflects its impact on patient safety, quality of care, and quality of life because every minute makes a difference, and real change is measured by its impact.
