Highway Patrol: All highways are passable without obstructions

The officer at the Highway Patrol Department operations room, Captain Anas Al-Khalidi, stated that all highways in Jordan are passable on Monday morning, with no traffic obstructions recorded, noting active traffic on a number of roads, especially towards the capital, Amman.

Al-Khalidi explained that traffic is active on the Irbid–Amman road, the Amman–Zarqa highway, the Mafraq–Zarqa highway, the 100th Street, and the Airport Road, while other roads are experiencing moderate traffic.

He added that the Airport Road is experiencing traffic density in both directions towards Amman and the south, with spacing between vehicles and traffic compliance, confirming the deployment of patrols on the road to monitor traffic flow and ensure its smoothness around the clock.

Al-Khalidi pointed out that traffic on the Desert Highway, including the Al-Hasa area and beyond the Al-Zameela station towards the south, is moderate, with movement of freight vehicles and small passenger cars, without any notable obstructions.

Regarding weather conditions, he indicated that the weather has been stable since the morning hours, noting that the rain witnessed in some areas, especially in the south of the Kingdom yesterday, did not hinder vehicle movement.

Al-Khalidi confirmed that no traffic accidents had been dealt with on the highways from the early morning hours until the time of his statement, expressing his hope that the day would end without accidents.

Returning to the previous day's accidents, Al-Khalidi reported dealing with a collision on the Mafraq–Zarqa highway, after the Hashemite University towards Mafraq, which caused obstructions on the right lane, before they were removed and the road was fully reopened.

Patrols also dealt with a container falling from a truck on the Desert Highway, which led to the obstruction of the right lane, calling on freight vehicle drivers to secure loads before setting off to avoid them falling and causing traffic obstructions or accidents and injuries.
