External Patrols: Vehicle caught speeding at 210 km/h on Azraq road

The External Patrols management room officer, Captain Ayman Al-Harahsheh, said on Wednesday that external patrols intercepted a vehicle traveling at speeds ranging between 100 and 210 km/h on the Azraq-Zarqa road.

Al-Harahsheh added that external patrols continue to monitor dangerous and moving violations, most notably high-speed violations, stressing the importance of drivers adhering to speed limits, traffic rules and priorities, and avoiding violations that pose a danger to traffic safety.

He pointed out that traffic movement is witnessing activity on most external roads, especially the movement of vehicles coming from the northern governorates towards the capital Amman, and in the opposite direction, in addition to active traffic on the Desert Highway and Airport Road, noting that there are no notable traffic obstacles on these roads.

Al-Harahsheh explained that traffic is also active on the Development Corridor, Al-Adasiyah - Naour, Mafraq - Zarqa, and Amman - Zarqa roads, in addition to freight vehicle traffic in the Al-Hasa area towards the south and the capital Amman.

Regarding traffic accidents, Al-Harahsheh mentioned that external patrols dealt during the past 24 hours with a collision between two vehicles that occurred before the Al-Lajjun security station, resulting in five moderate injuries, which were treated and transported to the nearest hospital by Civil Defense personnel.

He indicated that the accident caused an obstruction on the public street, as patrols moved to the site, removed the obstacles and reopened the road, noting that the cause was one of the vehicles driving in the wrong direction.

He added that another collision occurred on the Irbid - Amman road, resulting in three moderate injuries, pointing out that the accident also caused an obstruction on the public street, and patrols worked to remove the obstacles and reopen traffic, while the cause of the accident was attributed to failing to take necessary traffic safety precautions.

Al-Harahsheh pointed out the continuation of the winter campaign implemented by external patrols to inspect the technical readiness of vehicles and their roadworthiness during the winter season, through field crews and specialized patrols.

He called on drivers to abide by the specified speeds, traffic rules and priorities, and to avoid dangerous violations that may cause traffic accidents.
