The Greater Amman Municipality confirmed that it has provided alternative locations for the owners of kiosks affected by the new Al-Mahatta complex project, which it is implementing in partnership with the Ministry of Transport. The project is considered one of the major strategic initiatives within its plan to improve the public transport system, provide more efficient and streamlined transport services, and enhance the city's aesthetic appearance, at a cost of 33 million dinars.
It indicated that it is working to relocate the kiosks affected by the project, totaling 86 out of 190 kiosks, after providing alternative locations for them within a distance of less than 500 meters from their previous sites. These are located within the alternative public transport lines area and the temporary Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station, while 104 kiosks located outside the project boundaries remain in their original positions. The completion rate for the construction of the alternative kiosks has reached 55%.
